Arches and Canyonland National Parks

We left Rangley and drove further south where we crossed back into Utah. We caught up with US 191 again and headed south into the tourist mecca of Moab. Moab is nestled between Arches National Park and Canyonland National Park, therefore, the local restaurant workers are lazy and rude, the local businesses are greedy, and the local youth are "too smooth to move". We spent the night here then drove into Arches the following morning. Here is a sample of what we saw.

I took the above photo in an area called Park Avenue. These formations are in the neighborhood of 20 to 30 stories tall.

This formation fell over on its side. (kidding)

After leaving Arches we drove into Canyonlands National Park where we found an open camp site and spent the night there. The strong winds blew everything away except the flies. Evidently, one of those flies pooped on my camera lens.

Here's a note to my cousin, Rick Hazelton, who devoted his career to college athletics and academics. "Rick, If you ever use your experience to create your own line of shoes, be sure to cut your name backwards into the foot tread."

Every step is an advertisement that anyone can read if the manufacturer is smart enough to print the name backwards. We saw this imprint in the dusty sand all over the park.
